"Let there be Light"
Genesis Chapter 1 mainly with the Creation of the World over the first 6 days.
Personal Views and Temporal knowledge
The Term "Let there be Light" is so moving to me. SO powerful both in their initial Firm effect, as well as the far reaching symbolism within.
Let there be Light! In our world to guide us on our path during the day. Let us feel the warmth of the Sun on our face, reminding us of God's love for us continually. Let there be light during the night, from both the moon and the stars, once again proving to us how God never leaves us, and is with us Always. Also to re-affirm the Kingdoms of Heaven, Celestial, Terrestial and Telestial.
Let there be Light in our Homes. To make them Gospel sharing homes. To have the Holy Ghost continuously with us in our homes and abound unconstrained. To have our children see our love for God, and let them feel of his love for them. A home of Peace, Happiness and Charity.
Personal Inspirations
The reference in Verse 2 to how "the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters". At this point the Earth was without form, and void. But the Footnote references in Verse 2, especially to Verse 2, and how the Spirit of God "moved" upon the face of the waters really caught me. The references Point to Abraham 4:2 showing how the Lord was "Brooding" over the face of the waters.
Dictionary version of "Brooding" is to:
1. to cover young with your wings (as of a bird)
2. Ponder and meditate
3. to think anxiously, and gloomily
We know it was Jesus who created the Earth as evidenced in D&C 14:9. I can envision him at this point, right at the beginning. He would know fully ALL that would transpire, the Glory to come out of it, the thousands upon thousands of souls who would come to this Earth and eventually choose to be full partakers of Eternal Life. But he also would know about so many who would go astray in the process as well. I can identify with this sort of Anxious reserve. The very well thought out plan of the Omnipotent Lord that allows everyone to freely choose to move and do according to their wills and desires.
